Our President, Cyril Ramaphosa announced last night that the
country will be going into lockdown for 21 days from midnight on Thursday, 26
March. Undeniably, we are indeed living
in trying and anomalous times.
I
thank God for the wisdom He has given our President and his ministers at this
time. We are probably all unanimous on
the call to pray for our government. We
remain proud and supportive as they take necessary steps to curb the spread of
this dreadful virus. We are also mindful
of the medical staff who are going beyond the norm to curb this virus and attend
to the patients.
I
have been mindful of the known fact that God’s
Divine Power remains in action. God has this in His control.
He can accomplish whatever He wills to do and has whatever resources
are necessary at His disposal.
He holds ultimate, perfect power, always well directed by His
wisdom. In fact – there is no competition and no rival – to His Divine Power……..not
even COVID-19.
We are in an unknown territory, so without a doubt there will be
panic, anxiety and fear, but remember the One whom you serve and His Divine
Power. We will stand amazed when we trust in Him and see what He can do in all
of this.
Ephesians
3:20 “Now to Him who is able to do
immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His
power that is at work within us”
I encourage us as Baptist Women of South Africa…..”Do not be
afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance of the Lord ….
Exodus 14:13
May we use this lockdown time wisely:
·
We will have opportunity to bond with our
families.
·
Pray with them and study God’s word
together.
·
Be of assistance in our communities, wherever
possible and permissible. Our senior folk need our help – let’s help where we
can.
·
Pray, pray and pray – God does hear us when we
call on His name. 1Chronicles 16:11 “Look to the LORD and his
strength; seek his face always.”
Together we are trusting God and confident that His Divine Power remains in action.
God Bless
Juliana
