February is considered the month of Love which is shown by giving and receiving gifts of chocolate and flowers preferably red roses on the 14th February. My husband and I were discussing this fact this morning and joked about how many people would forget Valentines day and be in trouble because of the expectation that has been created that this is what's expected if you love someone. Our conclusion was that if love is shown everyday these items are not essential although romantic gesture do make a person feel special. Its the everyday tokens of showing love that last the longest and make relationships succeed or fail.
How do we show love daily?
Token gifts are important in our home chocolates and flowers are always welcomed but not an essential expression of love for each other. Making each other a priority by being intentional in our decision making that puts each other needs first is important.
My relationship is not the standard by which I encourage you to live by because Jesus and His love for us is the standard by which we should give and receive God' Love for each other. God has a heart for each and every person and nation.
Pray and ask God to help you have the same heart.
