Unashamed of My Faith - Noah doing for God

U- Hows your Faith
N- Noah doing for God

Our faith is expressed in our context and among other believers and co-workers.  In James 2:17 we read  "In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." that faith is more than believing its doing as well.  Faith affects our behaviour and daily choices and we live intentionally to bring God glory.

Our theme this year is based on Hebrews 11 and our focus is to live out our faith without shame. In Heb 11:7  "By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that comes by faith."we read that Noah sets us an example of how to live today.

Noah heard the voice of the God amidst the many other voices - Gen 6:13 " So God said to Noah, "I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth."

Noah was obedient to God's command - Gen 6:22  "Noah did everything just as God commanded him."

Noah was willing to do the will of the Lord even though he was alone - Gen 6:8&9 "But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD. This is the account of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God."

Noah accepted God's plan of judgement - Gen 6:22  "Noah did everything just as God commanded him."

Noah completed the task that God had given him even though it could not have been an easy knowing what God was planning to do. -  Gen 7:5  "And Noah did all that the LORD commanded him"

Noah was rewarded for his faith with salvation for himself and his family - Gen 7:23  "Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out; men and animals and the creatures that move along the ground and the birds of the air were wiped from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark."

Noah is acknowledged for his faith and action in Hebrews 11:7 with many other heroes of the faith. How are you and I measuring up by these standards.  Jesus himself encourages his followers to believe in  Mar 9:23  " 'If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes."

Belief  results in action  James 2: 20-26 makes that very clear:- " You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness," and he was called God's friend. You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone. In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction?
As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead."

Let us be unashamed of our Faith by doing the will of God, being obedient to what God has called us to do.
