The end of the Year is in sight

As we approach the end of another year of ministry its important to be reminded of the fact that Jesus is the reason we celebrate Christmas and he is our motivation to partake in ministry.

Yesterday I was reminded of the following facts about our faith journey out of the book of 2 Thessalonians
2:13-17:- "  But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because from the beginning God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter. May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word."

  • We are loved by the Lord.
  • We are chosen by God.
  • We are saved by God.
  • We are sanctified by God.
  • We receive these gifts because we believe in the truth.
  • We are called so that we can share the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The passage continues by encouraging us to stand firm, because we have a hope  and the eternal encouragement from God Himself.

Many of us are weary but this passage serves as a reminder that we have a support system that is far greater than we will ever need.

To help you with ideas for next year I have prepared some program ideas and resources that might be helpful. These resources are in the ministry ideas folder.
